Our Legacy

Raymi Dance School has been honored with several awards in recognition of its exceptional contributions to the world of dance and arts education in Central Florida. We have made an impact in our community and received accolades for our innovative teaching methods, outstanding choreography, and commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment for dancers of all ages and skill levels. These honors not only celebrate the talent and dedication of our artistic director Silvia Huddleston and students but also highlight Raymi Dance School’s prominent role in shaping the future of Peruvian culture and folklore through dance and theater.

Our Impact

André Graves

Andre joined Raymi Dance School in 2019 and was part of our family during his high school years, volunteering some of his time on what he thought would be just a small hobby, not knowing at the time how impactful it would turn out to be for his future endeavors.

He has the following to say about his experience during his time here:

“Dancing with Raymi enabled me to experience a truly wonderful world of dance. Each rehearsal deepened my love for the community that I got to grow with, opening a world of culture and dance that I carry with me to this day.”

He now continues his passion for dance and theater while pursuing his career attending Princeton University.

Luis Reyes Madrid

Although born in Honduras with limited knowledge of Peruvian folklore and culture, Luis joined Raymi Dance School in 2023. In a short amount of time, he has gained a deep understanding of Peruvian folklore through its dances, their origins, and meanings, making Raymi his second home. Once too shy to dance, Luis has grown to perform confidently on various stages, including Steinmetz Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Darwin Motato

Born in New York City to Colombian parents, Darwin joined Raymi Dance School in 2021. Being in Raymi Dance has provided him with many opportunities to interact with and learn about Peruvian culture and history. Aside from helping to build character, foster meaningful friendships and make new connections, Raymi has helped to inspire his artistic journey and cultivate a deeper connection and appreciation for cultural history and the arts.
